Join Bristol jeweller Elin Horgan for a two hour wax carved silver ring making workshop. During this fun, relaxed jewellery making class you'll use wax carving techniques to make your own simple ring design which will then be cast in silver.
Elin will explain how to use a range of hand tools to carve stunning effects and textures in the wax. This workshop is suitable for beginners and no previous experience is needed as you'll be carefully guided through the process from start to finish
By the end of the session you will have created a wax master which will be sent away to London’s Hatton Garden for casting in silver. Elin will then hand finish and polish your unique handmade jewellery and post it back to you a few weeks later, beautifully packaged in a cotton pouch.
Workshop Cost
The workshop fee is £65, paid online in advance to secure your place.
On the Day
A further £65 is paid on the day, which covers your silver, all materials, and the careful finishing and return of your ring. We take pride in making sure every piece is beautifully completed, so this part is handled by Elin with plenty of care.
Optional Gold Plating
If you’d love your silver ring to have a golden glow, you can choose to add £30 on the day for gold plating. No pressure at all — just a lovely option if it feels right for you.
Running on Sunday 16th, 10:30am-1:00pm OR 2:00pm-4:30pm.
Please note that this workshop isn’t held at Anne Morgan Jewellery Gallery. Instead, you’ll be joining us in Anne’s Jewellery School Studio Space located at Y Bwthyn, The White House behind West House, Penarth, CF64 2YG.
